Once upon a time I worked for a great company called Adtegrity. While there a co-worker brought in these delicious black pepper chips. Ever since I've been adding pepper to a lot of stuff: popcorn, spaghetti, soups .. anything that could possibly be considered tasty with pepper.
Lo and behold I learned recently that there is a healthy benefit to using pepper.
When you use black pepper, it tickles your taste buds. Doing this wakes your stomach up, forcing it to create the hydrochloric acid necessary for digestion. It helps break down the proteins and other goodness the food provides.
Since I have a lot of stomach issues, it seems as if my body has been saying, to quote the Chef from Alice in Wonderland .. "More pepper!"
