Goodbye Trillian
I used to be an avid Trillian fan. Using AIM, MSN and Yahoo all at once was always a pro for me. However, I've been having consistant problems with Trillian at work, crashing, dropping out folders and then, the straw the broke the camels back, it uninstalled itself.
So I set out to find something to replace it. Read about Gaim which was a multi-client program. Did a search and found out it's now called 'Pidgin'.
What is Pidgin?
Pidgin is a multi-protocol Instant Messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once.
Pidgin can work with:
- AIM
- Bonjour
- Gadu-Gadu
- Google Talk
- Groupwise
- ICQ
- IRC
- MSN
- MySpaceIM
- SILC
- SIMPLE
- Sametime
- XMPP
- Yahoo!
- Zephyr
Pidgin is free software. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. This means you are free to use it and to modify it, but if you distribute your modifications you must distribute the modified source code as well.
Go try it out. It is very sweet.
