The end of the weak

Well, this is the end of the week – and yes, I know I spelled the title differently then a calendar week. I did it on purpose.

Why?

Because I’m trying to end a cycle that leaves me weak. Not physically – but emotionally.

See, I get tired and frustrated easily. I don’t think it has much to do with the amount of sleep I do or do not get, but more with my attitude. Sure, when you’re lacking in rest it’s easy to get all grouchy. But really, isn’t it about your choice?

So, the weakness of selfish grouchiness is over. I’m going to try and slay that dragon – walk up right and try and keep a spring in my step. People are watching. My sons will see a cheerful Daddy – not a grouchy whiny man.

PSDTUTS is always releasing some new tutorial that sparks my interest, and this one is no different.

Dragons are awesome. Yes, I think they are. And here is an interesting tutorial on how to make a dragon like design in Photoshop.

I admit, the stock could have been better chosen – one of the commenters stated that it looks just like a big lizard with wings slapped on it. BUT, nevertheless it did make me arch an eyebrow and want to boot up my Photoshop for a go.

I’ll have to try when I’m not at work.

We’ll be creating a fantasy illustration in this tutorial, I’ll show you how to merge two images into one using layer Masks and reshape a picture using the Liquify Filter. We’ll take an image of a baby iguana and another of a bat, then combine the two to create a fantasy dragon. Let’s get started!

Job – A dragon in the Bible? For real?

I love the passage of Job 41. It’s so … inspiring. Not like “God loves me” inspiring but more imagination inspiring. The possibility that there may be or have been real dragons. Go read it – give me your thoughts. Some think it could be a crocodile or a whale .. but it talks about breathing fire so that nix either. Also talks about strength of his arms – so forget whale, and his graceful form – so forget crocs (they’re REALLY not graceful).

So read it. Even if you don’t believe in the Bible – it’s an interesting read anyway! And then give me your thoughts on what it COULD be.
