So, I’m excited to announce that Tuesday I got a large envelope in the mail with my diploma!

While this may not be that exciting for most of you people who hold multiple degrees and so on, for me – who has an excruciating time in school – it’s a huge deal! Not only am I not good with school (never can understand what the crap the teacher or the books are saying) but I’m also a very hard to motivate person (just ask my wife!). So, when I actually completed my Associates Degree in Information Technology and Visual Communication I was thrilled!

So, I took pictures of the opening of the degree. So sue me. I’m lame.

And there you have it. Sorry the pictures aren’t the best. The lighting in my house stinks. I don’t have a photo studio like some people.

I’ve been getting an excessive amount of spam lately. It can be very amusing, especially since a quart of them are from spam bot programs that are like "Yeah, you want to get tons of traffic? Then use (Spam program name withheld) because it can bypass even the toughest of spam blockers!" But guess where I find all this crap? In the blocked bin with all the porn crap .. thank you Akismet. You are my hero.

But I’m wondering how much I’d get in a week. So, from today until next week I’ll let it ride and not clear all the held spam BS and then let you know next Friday how it goes. Should be fun.

In the spirit of confusing the crap out of people, I found this tutorial and honestly, it was a good tutorial. Explains some elements in CSS that I had no clue what they meant. So, when searching through www.pixel2life.com I found this tutorial.

Now, since most of you won’t go read what was said there, let me recap.

They really are sending out stimulus checks. Yes, I know – it sounds amazing.

And we can use the money! Bills don’t pay themselves!

However, my largest concern was that it would come out of our next year’s tax refund – or just be taxed to crap. HOwever, according to CNN author David Goldman we won’t.

Will I have to pay it back?

No. And here’s why.

Your stimulus payment is a one-time tax cut – an advance on a credit you’ll receive on your 2008 return. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 tax return, and it will not increase the amount you owe or reduce your 2008 refund.

They go on with some weird reasoning that I can’t wrap my non-numbers brain around:

“If you were supposed to receive a larger payment than you did, you will get the extra money,” said Treasury spokesman Andrew DeSouza. “If you received more than what you should have gotten, you will not be penalized.”

So there you have it folks. ‘Free’ money. Of course expect to hear people grip about how much they got or how the government is spending too much and so on. I doubt this will really make any real difference on the economy, but I’m happy to have it.

I know, I know. What the crap are ads doing on Tadd’s website?! Well, I was just kind of experimenting. See, hosting costs money – money which I really don’t have. So, I though – “Ya know, I get several thousand hits a month, I should throw some ads on the site and see if I can earn a few dollars to help offset the cost”. So I started with Google.

Ironic thing – I actually work for an ad placement company. I could get set up with an account through them and maybe, MAYBE make more money than Google could make me. But we’ll see how it all goes down.

So, if you see some ads, click on it. You don’t have to actually DO anything after that .. just click. Let the page load, and walk away. It actually does help me out!
