Joy Stealer

It’s kind of funny how you can be blessed so much during a single week and still feel joyless and depressed. The moments of happiness seem to be thrashed away easier than they’re brought.

See, I was blessed with several packages and fun things that God provided. Air soft guns, a second guitar hero guitar and a new DVD player. These where provided without any problem and outside our budget. Blessings.
But then comes the Joy Stealer. Crying baby. Upset tummy. Work frustrations. Cold weather. Next thing you know you feel like the blessings of before are nothing and pointless.

How do you combat the Joy Stealer? How do you stay happy, even when you’re feeling extremely depressed and downtrodden?

    Hey:

Stop that! Right now! I found the best antidote to depression is
hearing “DADDY!!!!” when I walk thru the door at night after a
crappy day. When I look into my kids’ eyes, I see the future.

Maybe it’s a future I’ll never have. Maybe it’s a future that will be
full of possibilities or full of frustrations. Either way, I’m a gonna do
everything in my power to see that they get there. While I will
somewhat let them do it their own way – I will not let them re-invent
the wheel, I will let them make mistakes, because what doesn’t kill
you will only make you stronger.

Keep the chin up – it’s common for men to get their own version of
    post pardom.

I honestly have no idea… If you figure it out let me know, so I, too, can get out of the spiral of depression. In the mean time, spend time with your lovely wife & handsome sons, get hugs from all your friends (*HUG!!*), and try to find a little time to take care of yourself… ‘Kay?
    XOXOXO!
