Creature Factory DVD
Ok, once of these days I’ll learn Blender. Especially when it can do this:
This is all done on a FREE (yes, free) 3D software called ‘Blender‘. This DVD is training on how to model, animate, texture, rig … you name it I hear they have it.
Would be invaluable information to have. I’d love to get it, but sadly it’s like … $45 US not including the shipping.
Anyway, the original article talking about it is here – Blender DVD training: Creature Factory by Andy Goralczyk
And you can buy it here – Creature Factory
It’s pretty cool to see anyway, even if you’re not into this kind of design.

that was pretty cool, can you make something like that tadd?
Psh, no.
That is to say .. not yet. I will .. oh yes, I will.
But Andy is years beyond me in skill and knowledge, and while I hope to learn from him at some point … I don’t know if I can get to this level any time soon!
it is perfectly reasonable to become that good at blender in a short amount of time because since it is a free program with an unfathomable amount of creative potential and power, there is a wide community of users on youtube. Just search for “blender tutorial” or something along the lines, and you’ll have a very wide choice of lessons being explained by other users. it’s very helpful. i’ve only had the program for about 2 weeks, and I’m already making a First Person Shooter with the built in Game Engine. anyone who hasn’t already tried blender should seriously consider checking it out soon.
@cam: Hey thanks for the insight! I’m actually redoubling my efforts with this program. It seems the perfect companion to Silo2 as well as a few other programs. Blender is definitely a powerhouse – it’s just the non-standard GUI that throws me off.
The interface becomes second-nature after about a week. These tutes. will help you get started.
